Trip to Argo's Bakery

P2 had a wonderful time visiting Argo's Bakery.  We got to see lots of different machines, found out about the hundreds of different foods they make and how far they send the food.  As we left everyone got a peedie sausage roll and a bag of fudge.  The class asked some really good questions and showed they were very polite.

Class Trips

As you've seen in the homework this week we will be venturing out of school twice this week.  On Wednesday morning we will be going to Argo's Bakery and on Thursday we will visit J & S Allan.  We have been learning about the businesses of Stromness so thought it would be a good idea to visit a few.
Please wear your hi-vis vest and wrap up nice and cosy!

Welcome Back!

This week we have been looking at long and short vowel sounds.  Here is Eden, Eve and Emilie showing how their names have vowels at the start of their names.

Christmas Church Service

Primary 2 helped with the Christmas service today by lighting and blowing out the candles and reading from the Bible.  You all did really well!

Last P.E of 2014

P2 had lots of fun today in the hall for P.E; playing parachute games.  Thank you very much to the P4 helpers for setting up the comfy mats to sit on and tidying up at the end.

Primary 1 and 2's Christmas party!

We had great fun this afternoon!  We danced, played musical statues, Christmas corners, Reindeer dash and chose the best dancers in p1 & 2.  Then we got to choose some crisps, biscuits, sweets, jelly, ice-cream and a drink!

Maths This Week

We have been learning about how to tessellate shapes and measure area using squared paper.  We will be doing Christmas symmetry later in the week too.  Here is P2 working hard on their maths.
