Busy Days in P1
LO:  I am exploring and making choices about how I measure.
We have been exploring different ways to measure things including a balance, scales and measuring tape.  We have also spoken about measuring water and we investigated how much water different containers can hold.

LO:  I can sequence the main points of the story.
We have been doing lots of reading activities this week.  We have worked on sequencing pictures from our reading books and sequencing words to make sentences.  Some people have really enjoyed making books with a picture on the front.  We have also set up a listening centre in the story corner and Mrs Taylor took people to the library to choose some new books for it too.

We have also been enjoying playing with some new things in our classroom.  We have been making lots of things at the art and craft table.  Eve and Murray have made a nest for their mobilo birds, using twigs and mobilo.  Thorfinn, Francis and Logan are playing in the sand with dinosaurs, twigs and pine cones and Francis is making a farm using green felt for fields.

Here we all are singing our favourite Jolly Phonics song so far!

Thank You!
Thanks to everyone for taking in money to help us raise money for Children in Need.  We had enough coppers to cover our Pudsey.  Altogether the school raised £590.

P1 Homework 18.11.3
For homework this week try the caterpillar counting game.  You have to put the numbers in the right order.  You can choose how big you want the numbers to be.

Children in Need!
Today we are all wearing our pyjamas to school because it is Children in Need day!  P2 told us all about Children in Need at their assembly yesterday and today we are doing things in school to raise money for this charity.  In P1 we are trying to cover a Pudsey in pennies.  We hope we raise lots of money.  Listen to Radio Orkney tonight to find out how much.
